Our Rating

9 / 10

A great pair of earbuds needs to be comfortable, sound great, and help you shut out the world around you so that you can focus on your music, podcast, or call. The SuperEQ Q2 Pro Hybrid ANC TWS Earbuds aim to do just that. Plus, they can even help you tune back into what’s going on around so that you can still hear important sounds as you go about your day. I recently had the opportunity to see just how well these earbuds work for daily use.

Overview of Features

For many earbuds, they’re either noise canceling or they’re not. The SuperEQ Q2 Pro Hybrid ANC TWS Earbuds give you the best of both worlds, thanks to transparency and active noise canceling (ANC) modes. With transparency, you still hear your music, calls, or anything else you’re listening to clearly. However, you can still hear if someone’s trying to get your attention, important alarms, traffic around you, and more.

With ANC mode, it’s all about getting rid of outside noise. The earbuds can reduce ambient noise of up to 35dB, meaning they can filter out up to 95 percent of outside noise.

In addition to just filtering sound, there’s also a focus on call quality. The earbuds use CVC 8.0 (Clear Voice Capture) technology: your voice is picked up crystal clear without also picking up all the ambient sounds around you. With both feedfoward and feedback noise-canceling mics, you’ll be heard loud and clear even in busy, loud environments.

The earbuds come in a convenient charging case. While they can last up to eight hours (with ANC on; 11 hours with ANC off), the charging case helps add up to 40 extra hours (with ANC off; 28 hours with ANC on) of listening.

One-touch pairing with Bluetooth 5.2 lets you connect quickly to any device. You can also choose to connect just one earbud at a time with no problem.

The 12mm large dynamic driver gives you superior, high-fidelity sound. This is ideal for truly immersing yourself in your music.

In the Box

The SuperEQ Q2 Pro Hybrid ANC TWS Earbuds are already partially charged thanks to shipping already in the charging case. However, it’s a good idea to charge them fully before the first use. It took two to three hours to fully charge the case with the earbuds in it.

The earbuds come with the charging case, instructions, charging cable, and three sets of ear tips to give you a better fit. I found that the medium size offered the best comfort for me, but all the tips seem to fit comfortably.

Getting Set Up

I couldn’t ask for an easier setup. All I had to do was take the earbuds out of the case to turn them on (just place them back in the case to turn them off), search for Bluetooth devices from my phone, and I was done.

The whole process took maybe 30 seconds. After that, it’s just a matter of learning the touch controls. The instructions provide a easy to follow chart that shows exactly what type of taps and long presses you need to do to answer and end calls, change modes, skip tracks, turn on a voice assistant, and play/pause whatever you’re listening too.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that these are not extremely sensitive like many other earbuds. This makes it easier to adjust the position in your ear without pausing or skipping a song.

Testing ANC and Transparency Modes

One of the real standouts of the SuperEQ Q2 Pro Hybrid ANC TWS Earbuds is the listening modes. When I first tried them, they were in transparency mode by default. I could still hear my TV, a person talking to me, and the sound of footsteps as I walked through the house.

I had no issues still hearing the music I was playing clearly. I liked the balance of ambient noise and audio quality. I didn’t feel like I was sacrificing my music’s sound just to be able to hear what’s going on around me.

A two-second long press on the left earbud is all it takes to switch back and forth between modes. You’ll hear a voice tell you that ANC mode is being turned on or off.

For my first test, I stood in my living room with my TV on. With transparency mode, I could still hear most of the show I was watching. Quieter conversations I couldn’t really hear unless I turned down the earbud volume.

When I switched to ANC mode, I couldn’t hear the TV at all. I also have a clock that loudly plays music on the hour. I couldn’t hear that either.

The next test was walking around outside where my neighbors were working on building a deck, with noisy trucks driving past regularly. Transparency mode once again let me hear the sounds around me, but they were muffled. This is ideal if you need to be able to hear traffic, people walking near you, or other similar sounds.

The moment I switched to ANC mode, I couldn’t hear the neighbor’s hammering and sawing. I was also able to completely shut out loud trucks zooming past. While I’ve had ANC work well on other earbuds, this is the most complete noise canceling I’ve experienced. The sound needs to be extremely loud or moderately loud and beside you for you to hear it. For instance, a person next to me had to yell before I heard them.

Testing Call Quality

It’s hard to ask for clearer call quality with the SuperEQ Q2 Pro Hybrid ANC TWS Earbuds. I made a call when I was outside. Usually, my friend can easily hear the neighbors and the traffic. With these earbuds, all that was gone. All they could hear was me.

There wasn’t any kind of static, echoes, or other interference. I could hear and be heard as clearly as if we were standing side by side.

Overall Audio Quality

I was fairly pleased with the overall audio quality. The only complaint I had was I wish the bass sounded richer. Voices and most instruments sounded amazing, but the drums and deeper bass sounds felt more flat. This isn’t to say that music sounds bad with the earbuds, as it definitely sounds great. However, you’re not going to get the nice deep thump sound you’d get with a good subwoofer.

For the SuperEQ Q2 Pro Hybrid ANC TWS Earbuds, you get far better audio quality than what I’d expect from earbuds in this price range and even twice the price of these.

Final Thoughts

The mixture of comfort, battery life, sound quality, and noise canceling are hard to beat with the SuperEQ Q2 Pro Hybrid ANC TWS Earbuds. With ANC mode, they lasted just over seven hours for me before I had to put them back in the case. I charged them three times in the case during my test, and the case still had some charge left.
