Discover Everything There Is to Know About the iOS 10 Control Center

The Control Center in iOS 10 is a simple and excellent way to access useful features. All you need to do to gain access to the Control Center is swipe up from the bottom of your display, and it will automatically appear.

Thanks to the Control Center, you can use all sorts of features without having to open a single app. Some users probably don’t know everything the Control Center has to offer them. It’s time for you to get to know the Control Center and see what it can do for you.

AirDrop from the Control Center

With Airdrop you can do things such as beam audio, contacts, pictures, and more. In the Control Center you need to first select what you want to AirDrop. You can also choose who can AirDrop to you.

You can do this by swiping up from the bottom of your display to bring up the Control Center. Tap on the AirDrop button in the middle or bottom (depending on the device you’re using). Choose who can AirDrop you; you can choose between people that are only in your Contacts app or anyone that’s within Bluetooth range.

Access Airplane Mode, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb, Mute and Orientation Lock

I bet that when you read all the features in this subheading, you were probably expecting a novel of a section to access all of them. The good news is that they are all right next to each other in the Control Center. After you swipe up, all of these options are going to be on the top right-hand corner of an iPad and along the top row of an iPhone.

Using these features is as easy as tapping on them. Just tap on them again to turn them off. Right beside these options or below, depending on the device you’re using, you’ll also see the slider that will let you adjust the screen brightness as well.

Quickly Access Night Shift, Timer, and Camera from the Control Center

These useful features are together in the Control Center. With Night Mode you’ll see how the color spectrum is shifted on your iPhone/iPad at night. It helps you wind down when it’s time to go to sleep.

Disable/Enable Control Center from Lock Screen

Unless you’ve disabled it, anyone with access to your iOS device can turn on or off any of the features in the Control Center. Or, maybe you keep your device away from others and do want to access it from the lock screen. Either way, this is what you can do.

Open “Settings -> Control Center -> Access on Lock Screen”. Toggle off the last option, and you won’t be able to access the Control Center from the lock screen anymore.

Acess Flashlight and Calculator (iPhone Only)

If you’re using your iPhone to access the Control Center, you also have access to the flashlight and the calculator. The flashlight is the first option to the left, and the calculator should be two icons over. It’s that easy to access them.

To adjust the flashlight brightness from the Control Center, long-press on the flashlight icon. You will be able to choose between; Low Intensity, Medium Intensity, and High Intensity.

Get to Know The Media Panel

Don’t worry; the audio playback box didn’t disappear. To access it, just swipe left, and you’ll see an entire section dedicated to it. You’ll enjoy big buttons that are easy to read, and you can say goodbye to them being shoved into one screen like before.

Towards the bottom, you can also select the output for the audio playback. I think you’ll also like the animation whenever you pause or play.

Conclusion

The Control Center is a great way to access various useful features in no time. You save time and also enjoy a great design in the process. The Control Panel is one of many features Android is lacking. What are your thoughts on the Control Panel? Drop a comment and share your thoughts below.
